As much as I would love to do that, I need to accept the fact that Some of the information brought together in this post are borrowed from various sources and references, for which I have given the maximum credit in the references section.

So, I presume that any commercial release of the content in book form, may lead to Plagiarism. Maybe in future, we can think about making this into account, on a Non-Profit mode, which when materializes, would be because of the love shown by friends like you on the efforts put in. Let's keep that option open for future :).

@ Vineeth:Never knew that I could be of help in any way, to the much famous comic collector of India :). And what's more, it's so good to see another fan of Eisner's works. He is a master of this art form, and the industry only got benefited by his long time association, unlike many other legends who passed out early. Good to see that the legend's creations are still widely available. A tribute to his legacy.

The information for this post, was long being gathered, and took a considerable time to bring it into a post format, which I consider as one of the best posts I ever recorded at Comicology, if not the best. Nice to know that it helped to bring dome some facts to fellow comic friends.

என்னுடைய வருத்தம் என்னவெனில், நம் நாட்டில் இன்னும் சித்திரங்களுக்கு உண்டான மரியாதை உரிய விதத்தில் கொடுக்கபடவில்லை என்பதே. காலம் பதில் சொல்லட்டும்.

@ Toonfactory: Who else can appreciate the history of comics, then the man like thyself who is trying to chart a record on our own legends, who have been lost in the history for a long time. So good to see your appreciative comments, my friend.

In this Internet world, the information was so much available in all the creators, publishers, and fan sites scattered all across. My humble initiative was only to collate them, with some hours of effort and intent, to put them all in one place. And you bet that the Annotations did help in a great way to seed that effort. @ TPH: Everyone of us blogging friends, have a unique style, which sets us all at equal, my friend. I can only dream about the talent you have over extraordinarily coloring the wonderful strips which we cherished reading during our childhood.

I try to collate as much as the information in one post about the writer and artist I touch upon each book. So, when it came to godfather of them all, I couldn't control my enthusiasm to refer to as much as info as possible, the result is the lengthy post. Hope you didn't doze of while reading my blah-blah :)

ட்விட்டரில் நீங்களும் இருப்பதை அறிந்ததில் மகிழ்ச்சியே. ஒரு வரி கேள்வி பதிலுக்கு அங்கே பஞ்சமே இல்லை. கும்மி அடிக்கலாம் வாருங்கள்.

பதிவிற்கு நடுவில் விழைந்த இடைவேளைக்கு காரணம் என்னுடைய சோம்பேறித்தனம் மட்டுமே. முடிந்தவரை அதை ஒடுக்க முயல்கிறேன் நண்பரே. மீண்டும் உங்கள் கருத்தை நம் வலைபதிவில் பதிந்தமைக்கு மிக்க நன்றிகள்.

நாம் அனைவரிடமும் காமிக்ஸ் மேல் ஒரு தனியாத காதல் வயது வரம்பில்லாமல் இருப்பதே நம் ரசனைக்கு அர்த்தம் கற்பிக்கிறதே. இந்த அரிய கலையார்வாளர்கள் மத்தியில் நானும் உள்ளேன் என்ற மகிழ்ச்சி இப்பதிவுக்கு உழைத்த மணி நேரங்களை உயர்வாக எண்ண தோன்றுகிறது.

அமெரிக்க காமிக்ஸ் வரலாற்றை படித்த எந்த நபரும் காமிக்ஸை ஒரு குழந்தைகள் காவியமாக எண்ண மாட்டார்கள் என்று நம்புகிறேன். அப்படி பட்ட எண்ண ஓட்டத்தை அமைக்க உழைத்த ஈஸ்னர் போன்ற மனிதர்களின் அமர காவியங்கள் இன்றும் மக்களிடையே பரவலாக கிடைப்பதே அவருக்கு பெருமை சேர்க்கும் ஒரு விடயம்.

சாதாரணமாக ஒரு படைப்பாளரை பற்றி அறிமுகம் செய்து விட்டு, பிறகு கதையை விமர்சித்து பழக்கபட்டு விட்ட போது, கதையிலேயே படைப்பாளரின் அனுபவத்தையும் விவரிக்க முடிந்தது, ஒரு தனி அனுபவமாக இருந்தது. அது உங்களுக்கும் பிடித்திருப்பதில் மிக்க சந்தோஷம்.

ஈஸ்னரின் ஓவியப் பாணிக்கு பல உதாரணங்கள் இந்த புத்தகத்தில் நிறைந்துள்ளது. நீங்கள் கூறிய அந்த கடைசி விடைபெறும் காட்சியில், நம் மனதும் சற்று கலங்கி போய் விடுவது உண்மையே. என்ன ஈஸ்னர் அதற்கு பிறகு அவர் வாழ்க்கையில் சாதித்த உண்மைகள் தெரிவதால், அவர் ஒரு அரிய அனுபவத்தை நோக்கி தான் நடை போடுகிறார் என்ற எண்ணம் நம்மை ஆசுவாசபடுத்துவது நலம்.

இந்த பதிவு நான் எதிர்பார்த்ததை விட சற்று அதிகம் நேரத்தையும், உழைப்பையும் எடுத்து கொண்டது நிஜம். நான் கூட நீளம் கருதி, பதிவை இரண்டாக பிரித்து இடலாமா என்று எண்ணிணேன். ஆனால் ஈஸ்னர் போன்ற ஒரு கலைஞரை பற்றிய முதல் பதிவிற்கு நீளம் ஒரு தடையாக இருக்க கூடாது என்ற எண்ணத்தால் அப்படியே பதிந்து விட்டேன். சிரமம் பாராமல் மொத்த பதிவையும் படித்து உங்கள் பொண்ணான கருத்தை பதிந்ததற்கு மிக்க நன்றிகள், நண்பரே.

பி.கு.: மக்கள் திலகத்தின் நடைக்கு, ஸ்பிரிட்டினால் போட்டி போட முடியுமா... நடையிலேயே ஒரு நடனத்தை நளினமாக செதுக்கி வைத்திருப்பார் நம்மவர். என்ன இன்று அதை செயல்படுத்த விரும்பினால், தெருவில் போவோர் நம்மை ஒரு வினோதமான பிறவியாக காரியம் கட்டிகொள்ளும் வாய்ப்புகள் அதிகம் :)

Dear Rafiq,

பதிவின் சித்திரங்களை விட உங்களின் சொற்சித்திரங்கள் பிரமாதமாக இருந்தன. அமெரிக்காவிலும் ஆரம்பத்தில் சித்திரக் கதைகள் துவக்கமானது கஷ்டமாகதான் இருந்திருக்கிறது. இல்லையா?

ஒவ்வொரு பதிவிற்கேற்றாற் போல ப்ளாகின் தீமை மாற்றுவதும் நன்றாக இருக்கிறது. ஒருவரிடமிருந்தே இப்படி வேறுபட்ட சித்திரக்கதைகள் வருவது ஆச்சரியம்தான்.

Thanks for publishing the annotations (though I would request for all the pages of annotations as I bought the earlier version long back when these annotations weren't there in the book) Thanks for digging the history...I am gonna take a printout of this post of yours and keep it with my copy of The Dreamer...Wonderful post buddy (and as I requested can U just mail me the scans of the Annotations pages sans any watermark please, if U don't wanna publish them here brother)
