@ All Comikers:

Few more titles from CineBook could be found on stands this week, which contains Three new series, in the form of Buck Danny, Orbital, and Bellybuttons. The other title was of Clifton. As usual, all have been updated onto the list, in respective categories.

I heard that Scorpion-2 has also been shipped, but am yet to find that on stores. Would update the list, once I procure it.

@ All Comikers: Some more titles have arrived in the month of June, the title list for which are updated in Papyrus, Alpha, Pandora Box, and Lucky Luke sections of this post.

Seems, monthly procurement will be the order of CineBook releases from hereon, contrary to the batch released adopted last year.

So, we might not have to wait longer to see the Cinebook releases which hits the stands on UK.

@ ERB: That's CineBook's Success mantra. They don't overdo a single series, unlike Gotham which published around 40+ titles a month, and contributed to their own downfall.

Instead CineBook, try to add a number of titles from different series in their line-up. But they also ensure that timely editions are published in each series.

At the end, it is Good for slow-paced Comics readers like me and you, and also for our pockets :-)

@ To all Comikers: CineBook is slowly shipping some of their newer titles in batches to India. Recently I picked up brand new titles of Lucky Luke, Scared To Death, Largo Winch, Bluecoats, Thorgal, from the book shelfs at the local store.

All new titles are updated promptly in the respective sections of the list found at this post. So use them as your checklist, on your next bookstore visit. :)

For me, I will count the bank balance which took a hit again, in as many months :-). It's hard to be a comic fan really, believe me !! :-)

@ Josh: Thanks, its good someone atleast noticed that I got a new blog created for the comics blog roll alone :). It was a personal interest of mine to have a log of all comics sites I visit, including your Share Hunter one. So you see that in fruition.

And about the collection, i do see it is little much during the time of recession. But, comics is just like food and sleep for me, so it is imminent to spend on the same :)

Suresh: Welcome back my friend, was missing your comments for long. I should admit I have grown a much bigger comic fan since we met, as I was then only a fan of Tamil Comics. Now with CineBook, TaraPress, EuroBooks all in the market, I have started experiencing a whole new world.

Good to know you have bought the Cinebook editions too, especially because they are worth the money at which they are sold at India, much below their standard $ price abroad.

Thanks for the tip-off on the Winch issues being available on the landmarkonnet. Surprise, I didn't find them when I picked up the 2009 batch. These guys at the store don't even know how to stock the latest titles. I had to probe and grill the staffs at Landmark to know the location of their In-Store Warehouse, where I browsed through and collected this batch. It seems I missed out on noticing some editions, even after that. I will be visiting the store again to check any other missed items.

Seems Winch 3 was part of the batch. But don't know why Winch 2 was not included in the set, seems it was just a mistake while procuring from the publishers. The Winch 2 priced at 1k, is directly from the sellers... as it is noted that it will arrive 30-45 days from the order date, as opposed to the other ones with 3-5 days. That way you can find that even Cinebook's Iznogoud issues are available on the landmark site, with the same notation. I will wait to pick up them in the INR price, rather than paying such huge cost to them... What say ?

Also, I completely agree with your viewpoint on Scanning/Piracy, the reason why I updated the same concept in this very post. I should also admit, we are bit lazy in doing this effort, and also we are more concerned about the piracy, then what others think. There may be exceptions, but they are only some crooked minds, and do not apply to the general comics loving crowd.

Largo wich Vol 3 ( Dutch Connection and H) also available at price of 350.

Also I am not sure how people can think only after getting the book to india it has pirated, scanned etcc. If you see around the web very few tamil scans are available. Most of the scans are from US / UK / France. You get all the french books on web in scanned version which I am sure has never reached India.

Your dedication to comics is grwing lot stronger then when we met first. I have bought few of the cinebooks recently through online from landmark. ( They have Largo winch 2 priced around 1000 Rs) I think they have directly imported it. It is good to see your collection.

Toonfactory / Alok: It was you who inspired (or rather touted) me to have this small collection snaps online, with your version of books setup few months back. But, I should admit mine is only a tip of the icerberg when compared to your comics variety. By the way, isn't you a creator and I am just a reader of Comics, so that difference is well documented :)

GM2 was indeed a great stuff. what more if you get the last edition too in the same collection. I enjoyed reading it, and soon will blog about it. Scorpion was way better than Lady S, but the later has its own elements too. As far the credit card spending goes, we are on the same boat my friend :)

கூடவே, என் புத்தக சேகரிப்பு மிகவும் புதியது. நண்பர்கள் பலர், முத்து லயன் போன்ற கிளாசிக் இதழ்களை சேகரித்து வைத்துள்ளார்கள். அவர்களை போல சேகரிக்க இனி முடியாது என்பதால் நான் புதிய புத்தகங்களை சேகரிக்க ஆரம்பித்தேன் என்பது தான் உண்மை.

தாரா பிரஸ் ஏதோ சோதனை ஓட்டம் போல இந்தியாவில் காமிக்ஸ் வெளியிட்டது போல தெரிகிறது. ஆனால், சினிபுக் இது வரை இரண்டு முறை இந்தியாவில் தங்கள் பிரதிகளை வெளியிட்டு விட்டது. கூடவே கடைகளில் விற்பனை விகிதத்தை வைத்து பார்க்கையில், அவை காமிக்ஸ் ஆர்வலர்களிடம் தனி இடத்தை தக்க வைத்து கொண்டுள்ளது. எனவே இவர்கள் படையல் இன்னும் தொடரும் என்றே எண்ணுகிறேன்.

Viswa: No wonder Toonfactory is the inspiration behind part of this post. But, while he showcased his entired lineup, I restricted myself only to part of the new acquisitions, in order to not get the fellow collectors Envy :).

One of the reasons I picked up these set, is also because of the editorial and extra content laid all over the book. So you can rest assured that I will be flipping through them, as I go about reading each one. They are Classics of greatest quality.

Heah, if the communism is really implemented, then I would also be happy, since I could get a share of your vintage collection :) By the way, welcome back after a long time. Hope to see your style posts and comments often at comics blogs, including Comicology :)

Lastly a request to all Comics friends or Comicologists, who haven't tried CineBook editions, to get a taste of it by picking up your choice of titles from these cinebook 2009 lot. Jokes apart, i will blame Our Own Toon Factory guy for he is the one who initiated this kind of stuff in his blog (it was rather unfortunate that i was not available in chennai when he visited here).

good going. hopefully you might have started reading these books. Kindly read all of the pages apart from the stories themselves (esp the titan books). In fact all the Modesty stories were with me. In spite of that, i bought the books long time back only for the editorial and other stuff which were quite interesting, to say the least.

It's been almost 45 days since i was free with ample time. You can find me very often now.

ரபிஃக் ராஜா அவர்களே,வணக்கம்.

இத்தனை புத்தகங்களையும் ஒரு சேர பார்ப்பதிலேயே நமக்கு ஒரு மகிழ்ச்சி உருவாகிறது. நான் சில நேரங்களில் என்னுடைய புத்தக செட்'களை எடுத்து வைத்து பார்த்து கொண்டு இருப்பேன். நேரம் போவதே தெரியாது. அது ஒரு தனி சந்தோஷம், அதனை வார்த்தைகளில் சொன்னால் புரியாது. உணர மட்டுமே முடியும்.

கடைசியாக நான் ஒருசேர இத்தனை புத்தகங்களை வாங்கியது மூன்று வருடங்களுக்கு முன்னாள் தான். அப்போது தான் இந்த சுஸ்கி-விஸ்கி செட்'ஐ வாங்கினேன். மொத்தம் முப்பத்தி இரண்டு புத்தகங்கள். அவற்றில் தமிழில் வந்தவை ஒரே ஒரு புத்தகம் தான். இருந்தாலும் அந்த செட்'ஐ வங்கியத்தில் மகிழ்ச்சியே.

நெடு நாட்களாக வீட்டு பணிச்சுமை காரணமாக பதிவுகளும், கமெண்ட்'களும் இட இயலவில்லை. மன்னிக்கவும். அதனை சரி செய்ய, சுஸ்கி-விஸ்கி மினி லயன் மூலம் அறிமுகம் ஆன அற்புத தொடர் பற்றிய திரைப்பட பதிவை இட்டு இருக்கிறேன்.

இந்த புத்தகங்களை எல்லாம் பார்க்கும்போது காது வழியாக புகை வர வேண்டும் என்பது தானே உங்கள் எண்ணம்? (just joking) ஆனால், சென்ற வருடம் ஆகஸ்ட் மாதமே நான் இந்த ஜேம்ஸ் பான்ட், மாடஸ்டி புத்தகங்கள் அனைத்தையும் வாங்கி விட்டேன். அப்போது இருந்த விளைக்கும் இப்போது இருக்கும் விளைக்கும் முப்பது முதல் நாற்பது சதவீதம் வரை விலை ஏறி இருக்கிறதாக கேள்விப் பட்டேன். உண்மையா?

சினிபுக் இங்கு வருவது மகிழ்ச்சியே. தாரா ப்ரெஸ் போல ஒரு முறை மட்டுமே இல்லாமல் இது தொடர வேண்டும் என்பதே என்னுடைய ஆசை.

I am just wondering wasn't these lines targeted at some poor soul?- "At least, the one good thing I did amidst all these buys, is opting for an email Credit Card statement instead of the traditional physical ones. Well, as all you might know, It saves me from some prying eyes back home, and a lot of trouble thereafter :)" Haha....Well thats an extensive list buddy. I visited Landmark Mumbai last weekend and bought The Green Manor 2 (U won't bel. but its a complete sold out)I was also planning to buy Lady S & The Scorpion too, I really loved the art...but will wait for a month or so before I touch another batch of comics ;)
